We started Angin Labs because we saw a gap
Most AI advice was aimed at large teams with dedicated IT staff. Small business owners were left to figure things out alone — or pressured into tools they did not need.
Back to HomeA name that fits what we do
Angin is the Malay word for wind. We chose it because good AI support should feel like a fresh breeze through an open window — present, useful, and easy to forget about until you need it again.
We began in 2022 when two colleagues — one with a background in software and one with experience running a small retail operation in Tanjong Pagar — found themselves fielding the same questions from neighbouring business owners: "Should I be using AI? Where would I even start?"
Those early conversations became our first consultations. We learned quickly that most owners did not want a transformation — they wanted someone to sit down with them, look at how their day actually runs, and point out where a simple tool might quietly take something off their plate.
Useful support, sized right
Our mission is to make AI tools accessible to small businesses without demanding that those businesses become technology firms. We believe the right tool, set up well, should sit quietly in the background and do its small, reliable job.
We do not sell platforms. We do not have preferred partnerships with tool vendors. Our advice is shaped by what we think will genuinely help — and we are equally willing to tell an owner that now may not be the right time to change anything.
We work with shops, service firms, small offices, and solo operators across Singapore. Our clients tend to be careful, thoughtful people who want to move steadily rather than quickly.
Our team
Wei Lin Tan
Co-Founder & Lead Consultant
Wei Lin spent eight years building software for mid-sized businesses before deciding that the more interesting challenge was helping small ones. She leads all client consultations and writes the opportunity maps.
Rajan Muthusamy
Co-Founder & Operations Lead
Rajan ran a small textile shop in Tanjong Pagar for five years and understands what it is like to manage everything yourself. He keeps our services firmly grounded in what small businesses can realistically absorb.
Siti Putri
Integration Specialist
Siti handles the practical side of Light Touch Integration projects — configuration, staff walkthroughs, and the two-week support window. She has a particular talent for explaining technical steps in plain language.
Our standards and commitments
These are the principles that shape every engagement — from a first session to an ongoing retainer.
Honest recommendations only
We recommend tools we would use ourselves. If a tool has significant drawbacks for your situation, we say so before you commit.
Data privacy, taken seriously
We only access what is necessary for the work, and we recommend tools with clear data policies. We are familiar with Singapore's PDPA requirements and account for them in our advice.
Written summaries, always
Every session ends with a written record. You keep it, share it with staff, or file it away. We do not rely on verbal-only exchanges for important recommendations.
No vendor affiliations
We have no referral arrangements with tool providers. Our recommendations are shaped only by what suits your situation.
Your team stays in control
After any integration, your staff will understand what is running and why. We do not create dependencies — we build straightforward setups that your team can manage.
Quarterly reviews, no surprises
Retainer clients receive a clear quarterly review covering what has been done, what is working, and what we suggest revisiting. No hidden changes, no sudden scope shifts.
Working carefully in a field that moves quickly
AI tools have become a regular topic for small business owners in Singapore — partly because the tools have genuinely improved, and partly because there is a great deal of marketing pressure encouraging firms to adopt them quickly. Our view is that speed is rarely the most important factor. A well-chosen tool that fits your actual workflow and that your team uses comfortably will do more than a collection of platforms adopted in a hurry.
Angin Labs focuses on the practical questions: what does your day look like, where do small inefficiencies accumulate, and is there a tool that handles those tasks reliably without creating new obligations? We are not interested in impressive demonstrations of AI capability that have no bearing on your situation.
Our work covers AI-assisted communication tools, document handling assistants, scheduling and routing aids, and simple customer-facing tools for small service businesses. We do not cover highly specialised industry software unless it falls naturally within our experience — and we will tell you honestly when a question is outside our knowledge.
We are based at Guoco Tower in the Tanjong Pagar district, a part of Singapore with a dense mix of small offices, service businesses, and retail operations. That context shapes how we think about what our clients need.
